This fall, you will be seeing a new face on the critically acclaimed FX show Sons Of Anarchy. Kristen Renton co-stars this season as “Ima,” a no-nonsense porn star who is befriended by the gang. Below, Kristen talks more about her character, what to expect, and more.

Had you seen season one of Sons Of Anarchy prior to getting the role?
You know what, I had set my TiVo to record and then it broke, so I never got to see it then. I did see it when the Emmy screeners were sent out for voting and they are playing re-runs but I am going to buy the Season 1 DVD.

What was the audition process like?
It was actually fairly quick. I went in during the morning, had my callback that afternoon, and found out that I got it the following day!

Did you know that the role would be of Ima, a stripper?
Well, she’s actually a porn star. She’s quite the diva. When I went in for the audition, it was implied that there was something going on with this character but I did not know to what extent of what this character would become.

What about Ima attracted you to the role?
I love any role that allows me to really step outside my comfort zone. It’s a lot of fun, it allows you to live a lifestyle that in the real world, I would never do. Ima has this raw sexuality that I really enjoy playing. I went from playing a goody two shoes if you will on Days of Our Lives to the total opposite. It’s a lot of fun.

What are you looking forward to seeing for your character, Ima?
I love what they have given me so far. I had my first sex scene for this role. I would like to see Ima stick around for a bit and explore the tug of war with Johnny’s character and his character’s girlfriend.

What was your approach to getting into character?
I worked out a lot! Just going in there and having fun with it was what I did. She is a free spirit and doesn’t apologize for who she is. She loves what she does and has that take it or leave it attitude. It was a lot of fun

Kristen Renton is an American actress who had a recurring role as Ima Tite on Sons of Anarchy and also portrayed Morgan Hollingsworth on NBC's soap operaDays of Our Lives.

Personal life

Renton moved from Colorado to Florida at an early age. Attended Countryside High School in Clearwater, FL; class of 2001.

Career

At the age of sixteen, she started a career in modeling, and later got into acting. She has appeared in the films Ghouls, In the Mix, and Come Away Home. She has also made appearances on television, in such series as CSI: NY, The OC and The Glades.

On Season 4 of the popular FX drama Sons of Anarchy, not only are viewers getting to learn more about the personal history and relationships of many of the SAMCRO members, but they’re also getting to know their women, or “old ladies.” One such “old lady” is Lyla (Winter Ave Zoli), the porn star married to club member Opie (Ryan Hurst). But, Lyla’s job definitely causes tension in her relationship and, when Opie finds out that she’s been keeping secrets from him, he turns to Ima (Kristen Renton), a fellow porn star who’s always looking for trouble.

During a recent interview to promote the show’s current season, co-stars Winter Ave Zoli and Kristen Renton talked about how they like the way Season 4 is dealing with the characters on a more personal level, that they love the juicy material they’re given, finding ways to relate to playing a porn star, and how working with such a great cast has really allowed them to grow as actors. Question: What do you guys like most about this season’s storyline and what’s going on for your character, in particular?

WINTER AVE ZOLI: What I like a lot about this season is that it’s dealing more on a personal level with all of the characters, and delving into relationships and the history of the relationships and the past of the club. A lot of things come to a head. So, it reveals a lot of information this season, about the characters and the club. With my character, in particular, I like that things are coming to a head for her and Opie, and it’s showing more of Lyla. Situations come up that force her and Opie (Ryan Hurst) to deal with the things in their life.

KRISTEN RENTON: This season is a very relationship-driven season. Viewers are able to look back into the past of how the club started and where everybody came from, and the different relationships and dynamics that come into play, with the history of the clu
