Current lunar node position primary
The North Node shifting into Pisces will make or break your zodiac sign
The winds of change are blowing, and the lunar nodes are shifting signs, my friends.
On January 11, 2025, the North Node of the Moon transitions from Aries to Pisces, while the South Node transitions from Libra into Virgo.
We will be under the heady influence of the axis of practical magic until July 26, 2026, making this a serious season of karmic lessons and profound transformation.
The lunar nodes are not planets or celestial bodies but two calculated points between the sun’s ecliptic and the moon’s orbit. Their position changes signs every 18 months. The karmic axis, or zodiac polarity, in which the nodes fall, corresponds to the annual phases of solar and lunar eclipses.
In almost all schools of astrology, from Vedic to Hellenistic, the lunar nodes are described as a dragon. The North Node is the mouth, and the South Node is the tail.
While the South Node indicates past life patterns, the North Node provides the framework for our soul’s work in this time-space reality.
Helping us better understand the power of the nodes as they set up shop in a different pair of polarities is brilliant astrologer and tarot reader Letao Wang.
Wang told The Post, “The North Node points to your life purpose and the lessons you’re here in this lifetime to learn, urging growth and NEW experiences. In contrast, the South Node reflects past life karma, innate talents, and comfort zones you’re meant to release in this incarnation.”
He conceives of the nodes as the gateway of destiny.
“The North Node pushes you toward spiritual evolution, while the South Node highlights karmic patterns to transcend and let go of. Together, they guide you toward balance, integrating the wisdom of the past with the growth of the future, reminding us th
What Are the Lunar Nodes? How to Find + Use the Lunar Nodes in Astrology to Make Your Life Right 🐉🌙💫
OKAY, SO... the astrology of the Lunar Nodes is HYPER-WOO*.
(*First of all… it involves a dragon. 💁🏻♀️)
In the natal chart, the Lunar Nodes describe our ultimate purpose project: the South Node reveals conditions of our past-life karma, and the North Node reveals our present-life dharma.
Technically, the Lunar Nodes symbolize where the Moon crosses the path of the Sun on your chart. The zodiac signs they fall across show where eclipses were sparking during your birth year.
AND, if you read my previous post (A User’s Guide to Eclipses, you’re welcome 😌✨), you’re well aware: eclipses can be karmic plot twists in the “meta-narrative.”
When the Lunar Nodes are involved, those plot twists can actually furrow us directly into our the fulfillment of our soul’s most desired destiny. 🤩

…how the Lunar Nodes interrelate with the rest of your chart hints at the themes, experiences, events, and key players that will contribute or play a role in the unfolding and development of your soul’s core evolutionary urge.
The Lunar Nodes are not bodies in space (like Mars or the Moon), but astronomical points. They also come in a pair, the North and South Node, lying across each other in opposite signs / houses of your natal chart. Together, they are known as the Karmic Axis (one of four major axes, including the Ascension Axis, which I talked about in my post about he Destiny Point ✨).
The South Node describes the karma you smuggled into this life with, including past-life perfected abilities, as well as the type of experiences you will default to in your early 20s (and try balancing out with your North Node for your entire life)…
…whereas the North Node describes the present dharma, or destined purpose, you are currently ... this book is about... Nodal Returns, Nodal synastries, Nodal 'trawls' and Nodal moments. A knowledge-gathering journey through the lives and charts of the famous and not so famous - yet with the excitement of a personal quest and the inestimable benefit of coming through the pen of a gifted writer. Herein are facts - not theories - that you can use to enrich your own astrological interpretations and personal understanding of the Moon's Nodes in Action... The Moon's north and south Nodes are not planets but are the two points at which the Moon's monthly path crosses the Sun's annual path (ecliptic) around the Earth. These are abstract points, but astrology accords them the power and effective status of planets... There are thirteen lunations or New Moons each year, in which the Sun and Moon share the same zodiacal longitude. At least two of them are solar eclipses, and occur during the twice yearly eclipse seasons, each being a period of 37 days when the Sun in its orbit crosses the Nodes, applying for 18.5 days/degrees then separating for the same measure. At solar eclipse times the Sun, Moon, Earth and Nodes are aligned in the same plane, so that the Moon blocks the Sun totally or partially from the Earth's view. A total solar eclipse occurs when the Node and luminaries occupy the same zodiacal longitude up to an orb of +/- 9 degrees 55 minutes. A partial eclipse occurs from an orb of +/-11 degrees 15 minutes up to an orb of +/-18 degrees 31 minutes.( Annular, partial or total solar eclipses can occur from an orb of +/- 9 degrees 55 minutes to +/-11 degrees 15 minutes.) Lunar eclipses occur in the same eclipse seasons - again a minimum of twice a year. At these times the Sun, Moon, Earth and Nodes are aligned different The Lunar Nodes are the points where the Moon’s path crosses the ecliptic, the Sun’s path in the sky. Karmic points in astrology, the Nodes are also called the Dragon’s Head and Tail. The nodal axis in your birth chart can help reveal your soul purpose, your destiny in this lifetime. It repeats every 18-19 years. Therefore, you may notice it during the ages of 18-19, 37-38, 56-57, 75-76 and so on. On January 11, 2025, the Lunar Nodes move into new zodiac signs. The North Node moves back into Pisces and the South Node moves back into Virgo where they will remain for the next 18 months until July 26, 2026. Whichever sign and house you find the North Node in, the South Node is always in the opposite sign and house. The placing of the North Node is what you’re striving for or aiming for in this lifetime. It’s your life lesson, your destiny and your major area of learning. The South Node is where you retreat to, your comfort zone, your habitual place. In traditional astrology, it can indicate your downfall and what’s not good for you. If you believe in past lives, it’s thought that you’re stuck in your South Node destiny until you break free and stop repeating the same patterns and move on. The Lunar Nodes are an integral part of the eclipse cycle. What they will mean for you in their new star signs may have kicked in during September 2024. This is when the first eclipse in the Pisces/Virgo eclipse cycle took place. Here are the dates for the previous times the North Node was in Pisces and the South Node was in Virgo: If you were born during these periods, the coming nodal cycle will be powerful for you as it’s your Nodal Return.
