Lal Beg
A cousin of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and one of his childhood friends, Imam-ud-Din, became a mystic and was venerated by the Sweeper Community of Punjab as the re-incarnation of Lal Beg. Imam-ud-Din started an annual mela (festival) in Qadian where the Sweeper Community gathered and food was served. This was known as the Chuhra Mela (Festival of Sweepers).
This was the inspiration behind Jalsa Salana (annual convention) that was put in place by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and he would proclaim about how more people came to his convention compared to those that came to his cousin's.
So, who was Lal Beg? He was a semi-mythical saint of the sweeper community (halalkhors) http://www.maharashtra.gov.in/pdf/gazeetter_reprint/Poona-I/population_dhors.html#.
This saint was a mixed Hindu, Sikh and Muslim reverence and quite popular in the Punjab Legends of the Punjab http://books.google.com/books?id=2xGRlF8MfJAC&pg=PA529&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=0_0&sig=ACfU3U25sQxjRg4Uwo87PG0f7j_YRmckvw

Q: Who was Lal Beg?
A: Some say that Lal Beg was actually Lal Bhikku, who could have been a Buddhist saint. If you read the prayers of the sweeper community of northern India which are dedicated to Lal Beg you get a very interesting picture. These prayers are called Kursi Namas. They were collected together by Youngson and published in The Indian Antiquaries. They read like the first book of the Genesis in the Old Testament, tracing the lineage of our heroes. The Kursi Namas very clearly tell us that the sweepers are neither Hindus nor Muslims. There is no mention of any Hindu gods like Rama or Krishna in them. But, very interestingly, the Kursi Namas all begin with the Qur'anic invocation Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim ('In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate'), which is the standard Islamic form with which every verse of the Qur'a Any website which aims to reach out to the non-English masses across the world today has to inevitably incorporate Hindi. Some good example this effect are Google, Gmail, Travlang, etc. Well, I believe that Hindustani is my native language. Hindi is the national language of India. It embodies the essence of the Indian culture and civilization and any contribution in this language can serve to showcase India to the world and also the world to India. Besides, I hold a degree in Journalism and I have contributed to the Hindi literature, both in the print as well as online, including writing articles to websites such as HindiNest. I edit all types of topics and subjects. However, since I contribute to the Wikipedia on a voluntary basis, I make it a point to ensure quality and edit only those article where I can trace and quote the sources easily. A major point I would like to highlight here is that the Hindi Wikipedia is not the only place on the Wikis which needs contributions in Hindi. There are several templates on the Wikis ('Meta', 'Commons', etc) which have translations available in English, French, Spanish, etc which are widely spoken, written and understood. These templates are also translated in Dutch, Czech which are not as much spoken, read or understood as Hindi. For example I translated 'no watermark' template on Commons which did not have any Hindi translation till I did it. Similarly, the CentralNotice/Generic maintenance notice did not have any notice in Hindi and I had to translate the text. I have seen admins and contributors exchanging views in French and German on commons but no two Indians exchanging views in Hindi on their respective talkpages. Further, the admins and editors are practically ignorant abo Companion (Sahaba) of Muhammad Abdallah ibn Salam (Arabic: عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ, romanized: ʿAbdullāh ibn Salām, lit. '[ ALLAH'S (God's) Servant ]'), born Al-Husayn ibn Salam, was a companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, and a Jew who converted to Islam. He participated in the conquest of Syria, but died in Medina. According to Islamic narrative, Abdullah ibn Salam was a Jew in Medina (known as Yathrib at the time), who belonged to the Banu Qaynuqa tribe, claiming descent from Joseph. He was widely respected and honored by the people of the city, including those who were not Jewish. He was known for his piety and goodness, his upright conduct, and his truthfulness. Abdullah ibn Salam lived a peaceful life but was serious, purposeful and organized in the way he spent his time. For a fixed period each day, he would worship, teach and preach in the synagogue.. Then he would spend some time in his orchard, looking after date palms, pruning and pollinating. Thereafter, to increase his understanding and knowledge of his religion, he would devote himself to the study of the Torah. In his study, it is said he was particularly struck by some verses of the Torah which dealt with the coming of a prophet who would complete the message of previous prophets. Abdullah ibn Salam therefore took an immediate and keen interest when he heard reports of the appearance of a prophet in Mecca. He used to stop at certain passages in the Torah and ponder a long time upon the news therein of the prophet who was to appear to complete the Message of all the prophets before him. The more he read the more he became convinced that the foretold prophet was Muhammad who appeared among his people in Mecca. In 622, Muhammad left Mecca for Medina.
