The family of a Queens man who was murdered by a Palestinian teen in the West Bank is fearing further attacks now that he is being set free as part of Saturday’s hostage-prisoner exchange. Back in 2018, 17-year-old Khalil Jabarin stabbed Hillcrest-raised Israel advocate Ari Fuld to death. Fuld’s younger brother Hillel believes his sibling would have never approved of any prisoner release.
Fuld was against hostage exchange deals, particularly back in 2011 when an Israeli soldier who was being held by Hamas for five years was exchanged for 1,027 convicted prisoners, including Yahyah Sinwar, who was an October 7 mastermind.
He would be “100 percent against this deal,” Hillel said, according to New York Post. “Back then, “Everyone else said, ‘We gotta do the deal.’ But Ari said, ‘No, we don’t gotta do it.’”
‘We have to do this now to bring our people back’
Hillel added that his brother “would have warned us what is to come from releasing those monsters.” “The fear is you’ll have another Sinwar being released, another mass terror attack, like they tried to do last night, at the hands of someone being released,” he told the outlet, calling Jabarin’s release “painful.”
However, Hillel also seemed resigned to it. “I believe we have to do this now to bring our people back,” he said.
Jabarin is among the 602 prisoners to be exchanged for six Israeli hostages. 50 of those who are being released are serving life sentences.
“The personal price that we’re paying, as difficult as it is, doesn’t really change our opinion. This deal is both horrible and beautiful at the same time,” Hillel said. “Horrible because we’re letting out these monsters. Beautiful because these p

O Ranji Trophy semis: Yashasvi Jaiswal ruled out due to ankle pain
MUMBAI: In a big blow to Mumbai, India opener Yashasvi Jaiswalhas been ruled out of the defending champions' Ranji Trophysemifinal clash against Vidarbha at Jamtha in Nagpur, which is set to begin from Monday, due to a left ankle pain, TOI has learnt.
Snubbed from India's ICC Champions Trophysquad, where he has been named as a "non-travelling reserve," Jaiswal will now travel to the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru for further evaluation and treatment of his injury.
"Jaiswal has been ruled out of the Ranji Trophy semifinals clash as he is suffering from a left ankle pain. He fielded in Mumbai's practice session today at Nagpur, but looked uncomfortable while batting in the nets. It is an old injury which has recurred. He has to leave for the BCCI's Centre of excellence tomorrow to start his recovery process," a reliable source said.
The sudden development means that the national selectors may be forced to name a new 'non-travelling reserve" for the Champions Trophy.
Jaiswal's unavailability due to injury for the big match is a big setback for Mumbai.
However, the Mumbai selectors are unlikely to add anybody to the squad as they had added Jaiswal as the 18th player in the outfit for the big clash, which is a rerun of last season's Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium, after he confirmed his availability for the match.
Meanwhile, India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav is fit for the game after experiencing a slight niggle in the wrist during Mumbai's quarterfinal clash against Haryana at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The 34-year-old had scored 9 & an 86-ball 70, thus bouncing back to form, to help Mumbai score a 152-run win against Haryana.
