Amanda Joy Dawn "Mandy" Teefey (b. April 16, 1976) is an Italian-American former stage actress. Teefey is an Executive Producer for the first, second and third season of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why.

Biography[]

Teefey was born in Dallas, Texas, U.S. to David Michael Cornett and Debbie Jean Gibson. She is known for her work on "The Ant Bully", "Lucky Lance 6" and "Man in the Woods". She was previously married to Ricardo Joel Gomez from 1992 to 1997, she had Selena Gomez with him in 1992. She has been married to Brian Teefey since May 18, 2006. She miscarried at first, but in 2013 she went on to have Gracie Elliot Teefey with him.

Selena Gomez’s biggest fans are her parents: mom Mandy Teefey and stepfather Brian Teefey.

“I felt a little out of place, always, so I started doing research, which finally led me to a psychiatrist, who diagnosed me with bipolar II disorder…which is where you have cycles of depression mixed with more elevated moods. Highs and lows, basically…then in my 40s, I was diagnosed with adult ADHD, which, again, is not something that was ever talked about in my community.”

Now, Mandy says she wants “every young woman to know it’s okay to talk about mental health issues.”
